Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is the inspection of the interiors of a joint through an endoscope (a flexible viewing tube that lights the area).

Arthroscopy is a procedure a surgical procedure to look at the inside in your body through endoscope (a viewing tube). This procedure is to diagnose a joint problem, to repair a joint problem, or monitor a disease or the effectiveness of a treatment. Arthroscopy is performed on the knee, shoulder and ankle. It can be done on the hip, elbow and wrist.

Diagnosis of Arthroscopy

Some of the conditions that may be diagnosed or treated by arthroscope include:

Torn cartilage
Damaged joint lining
Torn ligament
Damage to the knee cap (patella)
Arthritis.
